WMI Helps to put the “Giving” back into Thanksgiving – $10,000 Donation Announced
November 22, Sugar Land, TX - Imagine waking up on a cold, dark street, hungry and alone. You look down and your shoes are worn thin, with holes in the top, which don’t quite keep the winter chill away. Your lips are blistered from the dry air and your hair is in knots. You have no one to call your own. You have likely been beaten, abandoned or raised by drug abusing parents. And while we may rarely witness this kind of abuse when it comes to children in the United States, the reality is that extreme levels of poverty and neglect among children is a rapidly growing problem today.
Over 50 million people in the United States alone rely on a food stamp subsidy, yet millions, especially children, slip through the cracks. In other countries, children can be far less fortunate and subjected to sex trade, sweat shops, or sent out on the streets to beg and steal. Considering that we are in the worst economy since the great depression it’s no surprise that the first place people tighten up their budgets is in their giving. Charitable donations are down an average of 25% overall this year. However, if we all do our part, we can cloth some kids, fill some tummies with warm, healthy food, and give shelter and love to children both in the United States and abroad.

StandupForKids.org is a nationwide program founded in 1990, and is run almost entirely by volunteers. Our CEO, Kip Herriage, has a personal connection with Stand up For Kids, having donated time and initiated fund raising efforts for this U.S. based program. “When I first learned about Stand Up For Kids I was working on Wall Street and saw first hand how brutal the winters can be for those without a home or shelter. However, nothing can break you down like seeing children and teenagers left to fend for themselves on the streets” said Kip.

Since entering the National Basketball Association as the third youngest player ever drafted out of high school in December of 1996, Tracy has been a perennial all star and currently plays for the Houston Rockets. His foundation has supported various programs over the years that enhance the lives of children and enrich their learning process. “I began this process knowing that I could utilize my corporate partner and celebrity status to bring needed funds and attention to programs across the country”. Over the last decade, the foundation has contributed hundreds of thousands of dollars to various children’s charities.

Kip’s youngest son will be attending the camp and this will give the kids an opportunity to make new friends and walk away with the experience of a life time.

Sugar Land, TX — July 2, 2009 — Wealth Masters International (WMI) was presented the Silver Community Award and named as the major contributor to the Tracy McGrady (TMAC) Foundation that hosted their 3rd Annual Basketball Camp from June 22-26 in Houston, Texas. This has been the second consecutive year that Wealth Masters International has been involved as a sponsor of the Tracy McGrady Foundation. TMAC’s basketball camp was an ultimate lifetime experience for beginners and advanced players alike for those between the ages of seven and seventeen.
TMAC, Inc. “The Males Advocating Change” is a non-profit organization established in 1995 to increase youth awareness and encourage community affiliates to be creative when developing youth prevention skills. Their mission is to provide each youth with the essential skills and motivation to become successful and productive members of our global community, and to aggressively and constructively counteract crime, violence, and drug use.
All players had a jam-packed week filled with team building, new and rapid friendships, and a once in a lifetime opportunity to stand ground and challenge Houston Rockets’ Tracy McGrady. “The camp this year is outstanding. We have well over two-hundred kids that are having a great time and learning how to play basketball the correct way. The kids have really been working well with one another and over the years we have seen so much growth through the TMAC Camps. I am so thankful to be here with everyone and the staff of Wealth Masters International and we hope to build something bigger in the future,” stated Tracy McGrady.
In addition to being the primary corporate sponsor for the Tracy McGrady Foundation, Wealth Masters International sponsored an all-expenses paid trip for six lucky winners from all across the United States to fly into Houston to stay at the home of Wealth Masters Internationals’ CEO and Co-Founder, Kip Herriage. We had a blast all week long and not only will they take away something phenomenal from this week, but I have learned how sharp and knowledgeable our WMI kids are compared to at least 90% of the rest of the population,” stated Kip Herriage, CEO and Co-Founder of Wealth Masters International.
In appreciation of Wealth Masters International’s large contribution to the Tracy McGrady Foundation, Kip Herriage, the WMI staff, and their six lucky winners were invited to attend a private luncheon with Tracy McGrady. During this time, Tracy presented Wealth Masters International with the Silver Community Award in appreciation of their substantial contribution to developing young leaders through the Tracy McGrady Foundation.
